Anzac SpiritThe Anzac spirit is a phrase that came from the historians who were examining the importance of Anzac to Australia. The expression 'Anzac Spirt' refers to the representation of Australians in war, how they speak, think and write of their own individual experiences.
Lancelot Reginald Alderson was only a young boy when he took the risk to sign up for the war. The thoughts being processed by all of the soldiers when signing up for this would have been thinking that they would get to see the world. Unfortunately, this wasn't the only thing they should of been thinking. Death was the most possible and horrible outcome for everyone whom signed up. As it states, from 416,809 men who enlisted, 60,000 of them were killed, whether it be from being wounded or from being gassed. Every solider who signed up showed a tremendous amount of courage and endurance. Not only to value the amount they done for there country, but to risk their own lives to show the enemy up.
my understanding of AnzacANZAC obviously stands for New Zealand Army Corps although when you bring the word sprit into that it means much more. To me it shows and tells you a bit of a story. It brings a thought to your head as what could of been if we didn't have these soldiers here for us. |
